Sarah Palin and Planned Parenthood

Im so totally doing this... absolutely bril.

Dear Friends:

We may have thought we wanted a woman on a national political ticket, but the joke has really been on us, hasn't it? Are you as sick in your stomach as I am at the thought of Sarah Palin as Vice President of the United States?

Since Palin gave her speech accepting the Republican nomination for the Vice Presidency, Barack Obama's campaign has raised over $10 million dollars. Some of you may already be supporting the Obama campaign financially; others of you may still be a little honked off over the primaries. None of you, however, can be happy with Palin's selection, especially on her positions on women's issues. So, if you feel you can't support the Obama campaign financially, may I suggest the following fiendishly brilliant alternative?

Make a donation to Planned Parenthood. In Sarah Palin's name. And here's the good part: when you make a donation to PP in her name, they'll send her a card telling her that the donation has been made in her honor. Here's the link to the Planned Parenthood website:

http://www.plannedparenthood.org/

You'll need to fill in the address to let PP know where to send the "in Sarah Palin's honor" card. I suggest you use the address for the McCain campaign headquarters, which is:

McCain for President

Since Sarah Palin's speech, Barry Hussain Obama's 9 point lead became a 10 point deficit.

and according to the NY Times...

    http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/09/us/politics/09donate.html

'After months of record-breaking fund-raising, a new sense of urgency in Senator Barack Obama’s fund-raising team is palpable as the full weight of the campaign’s decision to bypass public financing for the general election is suddenly upon it.....After months of record-breaking fund-raising, a new sense of urgency in Senator Barack Obama’s fund-raising team is palpable as the full weight of the campaign’s decision to bypass public financing for the general election is suddenly upon it.

The McCain campaign had by far its best fund-raising month ever in August, when it collected $47 million for its coffers and $22 million for the party, finishing the month with more than $100 million in the bank that will now be at the disposal of the R.N.C., according to several finance officials.

McCain fund-raisers said they also hope to raise an additional $100 million for the party in September and in October, taking advantage of the sizable contribution limits for the party. The party’s Internet fund-raising has also picked up significantly since the announcement that Ms. Palin would join the Republican ticket. Combined with the $84 million from public financing, that would leave the McCain campaign with about $300 million at its disposal.'

...anyone interested in contributing to the John McCain campaign may send their checks to:

No one is denying whether or not the removal of Saddam Hussein was needed.

The problem lies in the fact that Bush started an illegal war and disrupted a foreign country with faulty planning and incorrect allegations.

No, we can't just leave them high and dry with no infrastructure, however when a country's leader is saying it is okay for us to start filtering out... we need to do just that.

The only thing illegal is what goes into the mouths and noses of some liberal Democrats.

    Sadly some more FACTS.

On October 11, 2002, 12:50 AM, 81 Democrats in the House and 29 Democrats in the Senate including Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, John Edwards, Tom Daschle and Democrat Majority leader Harry Reid all voted FOR the war in a joint Congressional resolution to authorize the use of United States Armed Forces against Iraq.

The 13 country United Nation Security council also voted unanimously 13-0 to go into Iraq.

    FACTS are stuborn things.

all right... let's play the fact game (although this is post Hoegarden, so excuse the... Hoegarden-ness):

    Regarding the Iraqi invasion:

September 16, 2004, Kofi Annan, the Secretary General of the United Nations said, "I have indicated it was not in conformity with the UN Charter. From our point of view, from the charter point of view, it [the Iraqi war] was illegal."

Here ya go. Yes, there are some items that defend Ted's point of view as well in this article, however it's good to hear both sides:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3661134.stm

there is also more documentation regarding the actual UN voting of the Iraqi war that goes into discussing the amount of vetoes that were involved (and not counted), but I'm not going to spend all night looking up quotes and writing on blogs. I have sleep to catch up on. This is what I can find after my Beer Garden extravaganza since I have other shit to do:

"The threat to use the veto can often sink a draft resolution. In the run-up to the Iraq war in March 2003, France and Russia indicated that they would not support a new resolution sanctioning war. As a result the US, UK and Spain withdrew their draft, and went to war without specific UN backing."

"A nation can survive it's fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banners openly. But the traitor moves among those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the galleys, heard in the very hall of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor...He speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and wears their face and their garment, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men.
He rots the soul of a nation...he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city...he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to feared."
